Cei care mă cunosc în materie de lectură știu că îmi place să citesc mai multe tipuri de cărți, însă de fiecare dată tind spre cărțile pentru copii, cele fantasy, cu aventură și pline de mistere. Printre acestea se numără și seria cu Nancy Drew, una dintre cele mai populare detective ale tuturor timpurilor.
The Ghost of Grey Fox Inn este a 13-a carte din seria Nancy Drew Diaries, o serie nou începută în ultimii ani. Seria originală cu Nancy Drew cuprinde destul de multe cărți și toate sunt scrise de diverși autori, sub pseudonimul de Carolyn Keene.
Prima dată când am descoperit cărțile cu Nancy Drew am fost extrem de entuziasmată, urmând ca mai apoi să mă bucur de câteva dintre ele, de jocurile Nancy Drew și chiar de serialul vechi cu Nancy și Hardy Boys! Now, that I call some awesome adventures!!
The Ghost of Grey Fox Inn sau cum să ai o nuntă cu fantome
Am avut marea bucurie să primesc de la Books Express cartea The Ghost of Grey Fox Inn și pe următoarea din serie (vă voi vorbi despre ea imediat după ce o citesc), ambele ambalate într-o hârtie de tip ziar, parcă vestindu-mi misterele ce aveau să mă acapareze.
Lectura aceasta a trecut extrem de repede prin mâinile mele și m-am distrat alături de personajele de care îmi fusese tare dor! Nancy Drew este o tânără detectivă care, alături de prietenele ei bune Bess și George, ajunge de fiecare dată să rezolve mistere de tip cosy. Unele sunt mai relaxante, altele mai periculoase, unele pline de aventură, însă toate îți creează o stare de bine.
În această carte am participat alături de cele trei fete la pregătirea pentru nunta lui Charlotte, verișoara lui Bess. Odată ajunse în Charleston, Carolina de Sud, cele trei fete se întâlnesc cu Charlotte și viitorul ei soț, dar și cu rudele acestora. Încă de la început avem parte de evenimente neplăcute care vestesc ghinion pentru nunta ce are să fie în scurt timp.
Galbenul vestește o căsătorie cu eșec
Charlotte pare o fată foarte de treabă, însă faptul că este prea organizată și stresată cu nunta o va face să devină și mai agitată în momentul când se ivesc diverse semne și cadouri neplăcute care par să fie menite pentru a împiedica nunta.
Apariția unor spirite la Grey Fox Inn nu va face decât să pună mirii pe jar, în timp ce lui Nancy, Bess și George li se vor aprinde călcâiele din dorința de a-i da de cap misterului.
Am fost extrem de amuzată și prinsă în tot misterul cărții și a fost o plăcere să reintru în atmosfera de liniște pe care seria Nancy Drew mereu mi-a creat-o. Acest tip de lectură este perfect pentru cei care doresc să își exerseze engleza, dar și pentru cei care sunt iubitori de mistere.
The Ghost of Grey Fox Inn este o împletire de mister, prietenie, ficțiune, amuzament și stare de bine, care nu te lasă să pui cartea jos până ce nu o termini! Fantome care apar pe timp de noapte, cadouri misterioase și bine alese, o nuntă care e pe cale să dea greș și călătorii cu șoricei prin coridoare ascunse, ce să îți dorești mai mult? Mi-ar plăcea foarte mult ca aceste cărți să fie traduse și la noi, și cred că ar prinde foarte bine, mai ales la publicul tânăr. Până atunci, eu mă bucur de cărticelele în engleză și cred că în timpul liber voi da și o tură prin jocurile cu Nancy Drew! ^_^

With only the moonlight streaming from the window, it was hard to amke out any details—but just as Charlotte had said, it appeared that the figure was dressed in some sort of uniform. Both jacket and pants were of a single color—blue, perhaps?—and the coat’s metal buttons flashed in the dim light.
«Don’t come any closer,» I warned, trying to keep my voice from shaking. I scanned the room for something I could use as a weapon and landed on a heavy-looking crystal vase on the nightstand by my side. I grabbed it by the neck and whirled back around to face the intruder—
But he was gone.” (p.36-37)“«I’m going to help the rest of the bridal party collect the centerpieces and other things from the tables first,» Parker said. «How about you, Nancy?»
«Well, I was planning on staying behind and ive you a hand with all this,» I replied.
«That’s so nice of you,» Parker said gratefully. «Well then, we’ll just grab a ride with someone after we’re done, okay?»
I nodded. Piper and Morgan said their good-byes and followed the rest of the crowd out of the restaurant. I glanced outside, where a crescent moon had risen over the river, and I could see the winking lights of sailboats bobbing along on their way back to shore. If only the evening inside this room were as peaceful as the scene outside its windows.” (p.89)“After ten minutes of searching, George decided to take a break. «Ugh!» she exclaimed, letting her head fall back against the wooden paneled wall with a thump. «Another dead end!»
I froze in place. «George,» I said slowly. «Do that again.»
George looked aat me curiously. «Do what again?»
«Thump your head against the wall.»
She blinked. «You’ve got to be kidding.»
«Nope, totally serious.»
George shrugged and thumped her head against the wall. It was just as I’d thought.
«What is it, Nancy?» Bess asked.” (p.96-97)
